Winston AI ("Winston," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Winston personal voice assistant application.

1. Information We Collect

To provide the Winston service, we collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and Google account information when you sign in with Google.
• Profile information: Information you provide during setup and through conversations, including names of people important to you, your location, preferences, interests, and regular destinations.
• Calendar and email data: With your explicit permission, we access your Google Calendar and Gmail to provide briefings, departure alerts, and email summaries. We read this data to provide the service — we do not store the content of your emails beyond what is necessary to generate summaries.
• Voice data: Audio recordings when you use voice input. These are processed for transcription and are not retained after transcription is complete.
• Conversation history: A record of your interactions with Winston to provide context and continuity across sessions.
• Location data: With your permission, your approximate location to provide local weather, events, and geofencing features such as automatic shopping list display at grocery stores.
• Health and fitness data: With your explicit permission, data from connected fitness devices (such as Garmin) including steps, sleep, and activity data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect exclusively to provide and improve the Winston service:

• To deliver your personalized morning briefing, evening check-in, and throughout-the-day assistance
• To send reminders, departure alerts, and notifications relevant to your calendar and preferences
• To compose text messages and other communications on your behalf
• To provide location-aware features such as automatic shopping list display
• To improve the accuracy and relevance of Winston's responses over time
• To provide customer support and respond to your inquiries

3. We Do Not Sell Your Data

Winston charges a subscription fee so that we never need to monetize your personal information. We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Ever.

4. Third-Party Services

Winston uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Anthropic Claude: Powers Winston's AI reasoning and conversation capabilities. Conversation data is processed according to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Google APIs: Calendar, Gmail, Contacts, Maps, and other Google services you authorize. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• ElevenLabs: Powers Winston's voice synthesis. Subject to ElevenLabs' Privacy Policy.
• Supabase: Secure database storage for your Winston profile and preferences.
• Expo/Firebase: Push notification delivery for reminders and alerts.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase for database storage with row-level security ensuring your data is accessible only to you. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Winston service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at david@getwinstonai.com. We will delete your data within 30 days of a verified deletion request.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Withdraw consent for Google account access at any time through your Google Account settings
• Export your conversation history and profile data

8. Children's Privacy

Winston is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the Winston app. Your continued use of Winston after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
